Making Sense of Immigration Policy: Past, Present, and Future with Clinical Director Veronica Thronson and Professor David Thronson, Moderator Dean Linda S. Greene
Immigration law and policy have long been contentious. Legislative gridlock has blocked major reforms to the statutory framework of immigration law, as too often immigration debates are characterized by fundamental misunderstandings of current immigration law and practice. In this void, the implementation of immigration law has experienced significant shifts over the decades on some fronts, making it a constant focus of litigation with far reaching consequences for the economy and millions of families. This program will examine and contextualize some of the major immigration issues currently before the courts and congress.
