Community Conservation: Native Plants and Pollinators
Connie Boris, Executive Director, and Susan Bristol, Chair, of the Wayne County Conservation District are partnering with MSU Extension in District 11 to lead a series of webinars that focus on conservation, natural resources, and community impacts.

The next session of the series will highlight the significance of protecting native plants and pollinators in our communities. According to the U.S. Forestry service, pollinators are responsible for assisting over 80% of the world's flowering plants to reproduce. Without them, humans and wildlife could not sustain. Both pollinators and native plants play an important role in our ecosystem yet they face growing threats from habitat loss, pesticide use, disease, climate change and other current challenges.

Connie and Susan will give participants an overview of why protecting native plants and pollinators is vital to communities. This is an important conversation that will highlight the types efforts participants can do at home and support within their communities to protect these key contributors to our environment.
